Simone Massi (1970) studied Animation and Cinema at the Urbino School of Art. Since 1994, Massi has conceived, created, and directed one feature film and 27 animated short films that have been shown in 108 countries and have garnered 1700 entries at festivals worldwide, winning over 900 awards. Among his many accolades are a David di Donatello (and 3 nominations), 3 Nastro d’Argento awards (with 11 nominations), and a Flaiano Prize. Massi authored the posters and opening sequences from the 69. through to the 73. editions of the Venice International Film Festival — the same festival that honoured him in 2012 with a special screening of all his works.
